Paris Countdown is a crime thriller that could be described as an exercise in style over substance. To be honest, generally speaking I don't mind this very much as cinematic style is a very seductive thing. In the case of this movie though, while the visual presentation is very slick indeed, the story isn't all that involving.
Paris Countdown has style to burn, where "style" means "uses lots of lighting gels and some camera flourishes," but it doesn't have a coherent point of view or a solid take on the genre.
If you're lucky enough to be in Paris over the New Year, the city of light offers plenty of stimulating and festive ways to celebrate. In fact, the capital is one of the most colorful and exciting places to celebrate this holiday, whether you prefer clubbing the night away, a traditional French meal with a view, or a simple glass of champagne shared among a small group of loved ones.
