Storyline The Scissors Massacre (2008):
Three sisters grow up on a chicken farm in a small town in Gifu. The oldest sister, Yukie Sawada, is engaged to be married, the middle sister, Sachiko works at a beauty salon and the youngest, Mayu, is on the track team in high school. Their happy, carefree lives are changed forever when Yukies ex-boyfriend Suzuki commits an atrocious crime with Mayu as the tragic victim. "The Scissors Massacre" is a very different film when compared with "Carved" because it focuses most of its efforts on humanizing the ghost-like killer and establishing an origins story. This film starts off like a light-hearted teen drama, but quickly contributes a violent murder that acts as the genesis for subsequent tragedies.
I really enjoyed Carved 2: The Scissors Massacre and would consider it a hidden gem. I dug it a lot more than I thought that I would and I think that a lot of other viewers out there will feel the same way about it if they give it a chance.
